  • My Acts 1:8 Commitment
    Becoming an Acts 1:8-focused Christian

Prepare: Embrace a solid foundation for living through an Acts 1:8-focused life. Make God's passion for reconciling the world to Him my passion. Create a personal mission statement for my life's journey and unveil existing spiritual and physical needs of people who have not accepted Jesus Christ, living within my Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and uttermost parts of the world.

Learn: Personalize God's mission for His church by raising my level of awareness of and commitment to His Great Commission. Develop a Kingdom-focus that includes a greater understanding of Southern Baptist Cooperative Missions. Participate in training for effective volunteer missions service and connect with Southern Baptist missionaries and volunteers.

Pray: Develop and maintain a regular quiet time, asking God for kingdom perspective and a global vision. Pray strategically for those lost without Christ so they might experience God's salvation through His Son Jesus. Intercede for Christian workers.

Give: Live and practice good stewardship regarding my time, talents and finances. Be available for God to work His plan through me. Discover and utilize talents and gifts God has given me for His service. Live responsibly regarding my personal financial practices, and give generously in supporting my church, the SBC Cooperative Program, and other SBC cooperative missions offerings.

Go: Participate in short-term, long-term, and marketplace opportunities to minister and spread the gospel beyond my church walls.

Tell: Participate in intentional, culturally-relevant evangelism by completing personal witnessing training. Learn and utilize relational evangelism strategies. Support my church's outreach strategies and engage and share the Good News with lost persons I encounter.

Send: Cultivate and mentor other believers in missions to respond to God's call to join Him on mission. Invite my friends and family to participate in local ministry opportunities, in short-term missions experience, and forming strategic ministry teams to meet local or other needs. Pray for the calling out of believers to respond to vocational ministry.

Multiply: Raise my level of awareness and participation in various levels of church planting by praying for, supporting financially, and giving my time to support multiplication efforts at home and abroad.
